Online Donation - TB Fund for the Californias
The TB Fund for the Californias is special project fund to provide charitable support to cross-border programs focused on promoting the prevention and spread of tuberculosis (TB) in the San Diego-Baja California border region.
Over the past year important strides have been made by the State of Baja California investing over $2.4 million to prevent and manage the spread of TB through the construction of two state of the art laboratories in Tijuana and Mexicali to permit localized TB testing. These local labs are permitting Baja California health officials to pro-activity identify and treat individuals with TB in a timely basis eliminating the long wait times when lab samples are sent outside the region for testing. Unfortunately, recent budget cuts are putting the on-going operation of these two recently constructed TB labs at risk with a resulting impact to public health on both sides of the border. Recognizing the vital cross-border importance of maintaining Baja California's TB testing capacity, the International Community Foundation seeks to raise $334,000 through the TB Fund for the Californias keep these labs from closing. Do your part to support the on-going sustainability of the labs in Baja California by contributing to the TB Fund for the Californias today! |
